"Monkey Lads" strike again!

I have found "dealership" advice to be about one thing! Money! That
is
making money for the dealership! ($60 an hour labor)

Now if the dealership's had to say, "Pay us money to service our cars"
then
advice would not be so readily given! You would see cars falling
apart around
you everywhere!

I understand the "mechanic trust" but that kind of advice, from one
"Licensed Mechanic" to another sounds too "open ended" I have seen
Audi's that have been
driven hard for years, SCCA events and all, and only "require" the "A"
arm bushings
to be replaced, along with a few wheel bearings. I have seen
Grandma's Audi
require all the bushings replaced!(figure that one out) But to say,
as a Mechanic,
that they should be changed, without even looking at them first to see
if they're bad,
is not sound advice, at all! Unless of course your working for
commission at a
dealership!

Next time you go into that Dealership, ask that mechanic to "show you
that
statement in writing" Ask for the "technical reference" that Audi has
on it!

Ancient Mechanic saying: If it is not broke, worn, or out of spec's-
Dont fix it!
Especially if your paying someone else to do it!

Imagine if your Doctor told you that you needed to replace your Heart
every
20 years!
