Finally bought 4kcsq

Greetings,
After much looking, I have finally purchased a 4kcsq (my first Quattro).
Thanks to all the listers who offered advice/suggestions during my search.
The car is a 1987 with 99,000miles. It's in v. nice condition and
everything works flawlessly except for the fog-lights and the heated seats.
I'd appreciate commets on replacing the lights but don't think I'll worry
about the seats until nearer to winter. (I'd welcome any advice on these
though.)
I have noticed while driving that the oil temp seems to take forever (ok,
about 10-15 minutes) to move much past the bottom of the gauge in mostly
city driving.  The coolant temp seems normal (needle horizontal). Is this
normal for the car?
I would appreciate hearing from any 4kcsq owners who have had any
experience with performance modifications to the car.
