Suspension Woes Redux!: 86 CGT

Howdy all,

have been lurking for a while, and geting some good info; as usual, thanks to everyone.

My 86 CGT (88k) has had some significant work done on it these last couple months (since Feb1,
new rad, new LF wheel bearing, new control arms, all joints, bushings except subframe, tie rods,
then on to new rotors and Boge dampers all around).

In part, these repairs were to stave off the ravages of time--an ounce or two of prevention.
However, most of the suspension work was to fix the wandering, poor tracking, and intermittent
vibration in the front end.

Well, those symptoms are back, especially the vibration at 50-55mph and above. The only things
in the front end I haven't paid any attention to are the rack and tires (a pathetically
mismatched set--2 Yokos, 2 falkens, but all in very good shape, lots of tread, no blisters or
bulges). I think I may be seriously underestimating the tire effect here. They have all been
balanced to hell and back, and front end has been aligned twice, but I know tires can do funny
things--especially directional.

What am I missing? Jeez, could the frame be bent? Will the deterioration of the subframe
bushings let the front end move about and go in and out of alignment? (that's sure what it feels
like, for lack of a better description). Bad CV's in my VW and Isuzu have always made noise for
me, no more, but have any of y'all have a different tale with bad CGT/4k cv's making you travel
like a drunk? Hey, I'm grasping at straws this time, whatever helps.

If I have to get new skins I will, but I hope to eliminate any other possibilities first.

Any and all input welcome--nay, anxiously anticipated!

TIA
