The MB (single knock sensor) has the same RPM code.  The service documentation 
_recommends_ testing the redline cut-out during the test drive.

On the ur-quattro with the orange digital dash, the tachometer is a solid bar 
(as distinct from the green dash's two segments).  When you hit the redline 
limit, the entire tachometer flashes on and off to warn you.  Off-on-off-on-
dead fuel pump.
