Re: Seat re-upholstery (was Strange Audi)

I can only speak to the 90q seats. The mostly foam seat cushion
assembly has an Audi part number. I didn't replace mine, but asked
about the cost. I think it was about $125 USD list. Instead, after
peeling up the leather when I had the seat apart, I used duct tape
over the top of the squab (I assume that's Brit for bolster) to hold
the two sections of separated foam together. The problem is that
internal to the foam piece is a plastic trough-like part that breaks
and then the seat frame rail starts pushing up through the foam. I
also covered the rail with some batting to reduce its pressure when
the squab is sat upon during seat entry and exit. The result is a
halfway improved seat appearance. A metal trough part would have been
a better choice by Audi, I think.
