Re:Techron did what? Long and Trivial...

I was using Techron religiously for years and nothing ever came spewing
out of my oil cap!! Boy, that's almost as bad as my "pull the plugs in
order to..." question! ;-) :-) ;-)
As a matter of fact, shortly after I found out about Techron(about a
year after I bought my Coupe), I used it excessively because I believed
my I-5's fuel system had never been treated and with the results I
started getting at the time, I was "hooked on Techeroin." ;-) It was
almost exactly 61 months ago(5/27/92) when I was introduced to the stuff
by a mechanic who had just replaced my OX sensor and adjusted the C/O
mixture and idle, but I clearly remember the improvements being
dramatic. After that initial bottle, I ignorantly went nuts, adding 6!
more in under 2K miles, all without even changing my oil once during
that 45 day period! But EVEN AFTER that ridiculousness, I never once saw
ANYTHING "odd." I did however see the following numbers(no LIE, this is
what my 'Auto Record' reads):
Date Odometer Ave. MPH mpg Techeroin
5/02/92 70,921 24 19.4 No
5/16 71,212 22 18.9 N
5/27 71,450 20 17.8 Yes
5/30 71,655 29 28.3 Y
6/04 71,749 28 25.8 Y
6/12 71,995 27 27.3 Y
6/13 72,169 45 29.0 N
6/14 72,197 19 28.6 Y(Similar Fuel Additive)
6/18 72,425 32 27.3 Y
6/19 72,682 39 32.2 N
6/21 72,816 35 31.7 N
6/26 73,000 27 28.3 N
6/27 73,085 20 23.2 N
6/30 73,129 27 23.2 N
7/03 73,232 31 26.7 Y
7/10 73,402 OIL CHANGE!!
*Numbers were recorded at fuel stations each time I "filled-up"...most
of the times however I only wished I was "FILLing-up!" ;-) Notice the
short distance between each stop! :-) I was poor back then...I guess
life is one big sine wave for me! :-(
*Trip computer was reset at each stop. (Thus Techeroin affected numbers
recorded at subsequent stop)
*Notice in particular the overall jump after first addition. First 3
recordings(dates) averaged out to 22 MPH and 18.7 mpg, the rest averaged
out to 30 MPH and 27.6 mpg. I don't think an 8 mile an hour increase in
my average speed would dictate a 9 mpg increase in fuel economy, WOULD
IT, LIST!?? I felt a serious increase in performance, and I believe it
affected my fuel economy as such.
*Notice also the dates of 5/27 and 6/27, both 20 MPH ave., but the
latter date was affected by 6 bottles of Techeroin, the difference being
5.4 mpg. :-)

See words above. They don't have much wisdom however, and are only
slightly interesting. :-(
Seriously, I would not doubt Techron. I have only been wishing there
were Chevron gas stations around my area for 3 years now. :-( Way before
they put out those really cool/too funny commercials!
Sorry for the excessive BW. I'm at it again! :-( I hope this post was
not completely useless and redundant for some ...C-Ya!
