RE: Synth Killed Lifters!
1. Actually it was Castrol Syntec 5w-30, in New England
2. I don't rev the engine when it's cold, but I do drive right away.
3. No additives added
4. Car has not been abused to my knowlege (no teenagers)
5. Only engine maintenance is oil changes at 3K intervals + standard covered maintenance in first 3 yrs.
6. Don't typically drive w/A/C on
7. Used appropriate Fram filter at each oil change.
Thanks for the feedback!

Ok, first things first:
What "weight" of Mobil 1 were you using? 5w-30? 10w? 15w-50? Where do you live? Northern, cold regions? Southern hot? Middle?
When you start you engine, do you rev it above 2-3000 rpm until its warm?
Ever use any type of engine oil or fuel additive?
Has the car been driven by teenagers? Engine over revved? Abused? Valet attendants?
Past engine maintenance?
Do you constantly drive with the A/C on! Even in winter?
What type of oil filter are you using?
These questions can help us on the list to figure out the cause, and give us something to speculate about!
Thanks a bunch!
