Re: IC's the long and the nerdy

Scott et al

Recently front mounted a 5000 intercooler on my '83TQC. If I'm not mistaken I'm
seeing a singnificant decrease in air flow efficiency at high rpm as compared to
the stock aluminum unit that was mounted low behind the air dam. This opnion
comes by way of noticeable flat spot as I spool up the turbo.

I haven't had time to do any nitty gritty analysis yet. I'm thinking it might
also be the way I've run hoses. Perhaps some harmonics etc.

Regardless, I know that many of my attempts to home brew changes in a well
engineered system very often negates any apparent benefit I anticipated.

Does anyone out there have specs on flow efficiency of the 5000 IC vs the TQC
IC? Let me know.
