Works great. I even improved the design. Instead of fighting the friction resistance, I have 
replaced it with the roll resistance. I used a conical needle bearing on each spring 
compressor, that I've built. It makes tightening the nut on compression stroke a breeze.

After all, didn't our ancestors invent the wheel, when they got tired of dragging the sleds?!
