Very lucky with the weather as the rain held off just until we had left
at 15:30hrs.
Not a bad show at all, but 500+ miles is a long way to go.
I suppose the biggest disapointment was not seeing the S1 go up the hill,
or the 90 off the Audi Stand. The reason for the S1 not running (so I
hear from a good source), is that the Cam Belt had `come loose', and the
mechanic from a certain motor outfit in Northamptonshire (I think) could
not be bothered to fix it. I find this attitude very poor. If people like
me can "be bothered" to get out of bed at 05:00hrs and drive for 4 hours,
and ppl like Michelle Mouton (forgive me if the spelling is wrong) can
"be bothered" to come from the South of France, then you would think the
mechanic responsible for the car could "be bothered" to get off his fat
ar#e and try and fix the damn thing. rant rant rant rave rave rave.
No 20 valve on the QOC stand.....
The BMW owners club had a few interesting cars on show, one of them an M1
I beleive.
Audi had an A3, A4, A6 and A8 on show, plus one of last years BTCC cars,
the 90 DTM? and some other random really old things.
The Honda stand seemed to get upset when I started saying out loud, how
sad it was that because they could not develop a 4 wheel drive car, they
had to get the quattro banned from the BTCC ;-)

All in all, not a bad show, but too many pepole there for my liking, and
the 1hr 15 minutes it took to do the last 5 miles to Goodwood was a bit
annoying as well to say the least. But I've been there, done that and got
the T-shirt now, don't think I would do it again.
