Hello, Jeff! Good to see you back on the list.
Well, my early '89 200 (build date 5/88) does not have wooden trim on the centre counsole. 
Quite fortunately for me, I must say, coz I did not have to wrap that piece up in marble-grey 
vinyl, when I was getting rid of all the wood trim in the cabin.

Mine also has an older (and larger) K26 turbo. Its quite fast, I must admit ;-)
