Ur-q "no start" questions
I had a no-start problem on my '83 UrQ and after many hours
I decided it was the Ignition control unit, the one up under the
dash in the glove box (not to be confused with the ECU).
$35 dollars later it started perfectly. Then it stopped.
Checked again, this time it was corrosion in the distributor
cap. Filed the terminals and rotor and we were back in
business. There are some elaborate test procedures in the
Intro Service Manual for the UrQ that allow the propper
diagnosis. The one in question involved a AA battery and a
test lamp. Good luck.
