Thanks for the details.  I'll give it a try this weekend.

My ac is a little variable.  I suspect that there's a warm air door
somewhere in the ac system that get stuck a little open and hinders ac
performance.  My suspicion is due to the fact that I occasionally get
warmer (not hot) air from the vents when the AC is off and it is in the low
70s outside.

It never cuts out completely and works well on _really_ hot days, so it
hasn't been an urgent problem.
