AoA manufacturer's plates (was: A4 Avant Sighting in DC)
The (European spec) A8s that toured the US before the US A8 hit the
market had Michigan plates on them.

Subject: A4 Avant Sighting in DC
I haven't seen this particular Audi, but a big question would be
what
plates did it have on it. If they were Michigan Manufacturer plates I
would
call it a mule (isn't AoA based in Michigan?). More likely it was a
diplomatic car. I sighted an A8 at the Croatian Embassy pre it being in
the
US market along with the Mark 2 VW Polo G40, Mark 3 VW Polo, Eurospec A3
VW
Jetta and English spec dark green GTI 16V complete with right hand
drive.
DC is a great place to spot non American spec cars. Apparently someone
had
a 959 here too according to VW Sport. Diplomats are required to either
ship
back or destroy these cars when they are done with them.
