Synthetic tranny fluid?

I'm about ready to take my '92 100S in to have some work done on the
slushbox.
It is leaking fluid around a couple of the seals, so I'm having the seals
replaced.
When they replace the fluid, should I specify they use synthetic tranny
fluid? I've heard it mentioned a couple of times on the list. I don't
remember if the results of its use were positive or negative. Thanks for any
help.
