Mt. Wash./Pike's Peak: I'm Baaaccckkkk...

Well, for those that may be wondering whether I made it back OK, I did. After 5500 miles and 14 rolls of film, I am back home.

I don't have time yet to put together a long story, but it is in the works. I'll be updating my web-page with the particulars of the trip, and posting up some pictures soon.

For now, I'll leave it at this: What an awesome vacation!! I had 17 days off from work, no one paged me via beeper, and it was filled with motor sports activity, great scenery, and great comraderie with fellow Audi enthusiasts. On the way back, while at a rest area in Arkansas, I met a nice young woman to spend two days with, and saw Graceland and The Home of the Blues (i.e. Beale St./Memphis).

Simply Maahhhvelous....

Anyway... a quick THANK YOU to all those persons who helped make these events possible, with special thanks to Ben Howell for all his efforts out in CO, and Bob and Wendy W. for their work up in NH. I am still somewhat amazed that this simple idea/dream turned out so well.... I guess as the saying goes.... "If you build it, they will come".... has some truth to it. Or is it that Audi enthusiasts are just THAT crazy and fanatical to drive over 5000 miles to have fun? Hmmm.... I think the answer is: BOTH!!

And of course, we can't forget our beloved listmeister, Dan, who has provided us with the means for enriching our lives in such a manner uncommon to most folks. Thanks so very much, Dan... please, relish and savor the thought that you have significantly touched and changed people's lives with your help and generosity....

One thing that I can say for sure... is that we have a GREAT bunch of people in our own little community here on the 'net. Not only did I have a great time, but it helped restore my faith in humankind to know that a complete group of strangers, from all across the globe, can meet and get along like they've known each other for years (which in some cases, we have, via e-mail, I suppose...). Complete and total harmony the whole time.... simply awesome...

Enough already... I said that I'd try to make this short. (Hmm... wait until I sent my next note!!). Lots of stuff to do before I go back to work tomorrow. (ARGGHH... NO PLEASE.... DON'T MAKE ME GO!!!)

Take care, and I'll BTTU!!
