Revenge of the Audi Gods

>From previous message:
Will I annoy the Audi gods? (Its OK, still need to fix the A/C.)

Definitive answer:

Lo, and in a thundering cloud of oil smoke came he him unto the woebegone
sinner and quoth in stentorian tones:

"You have transgressed against the Gods of Ingolstadt! You have fixed
something on your Audi quickly, easily and inexpensively! This is verily the
blackest of heresies and you, insignificant worm, shall be punished, yea,
until the ends of the parts book!"

(Peal of thunder, flash of light (headlights burning out?), holy green
pentosin mist fills the air . . . )

"You . . . need . . . a . . . rack!"

Awww sh*t!

Pentosin level in resevoir dropping about one inch every two weeks, nasty,
gloppy goo on bottom of rubber boots of rack, guess that means leaky seals,
and I need a rack.

Anyone have the 800 number for the people who rebuild racks for about $150
somewhere in upstate NY (I think)?

What other parts will I need - locking plate, new rubber boots (comes with
rack?)?

Any special pointers/tricks on this? Haynes says jack up car, remove front
wheels, disconnect steering clamp at bottom, unbolt rack, remove thru access
hole in wheel well. Anything else have to come off?

Waaah!
