Aftermarket alarm

  Has anyone  had any experiance with installing an aftermarket alarm w/
keyless entry?  I ordered the alarm a few days ago and have been looking at
the wiring diagrams to get a head start.  Has anyone done this in a 1989 or
later 100/200/V8.  I plan to install it in the V8.  I belive that there is 1
wire that that makes the doors lock&unlock, as opposed to most 2 wire
systems.  (I downloaded the intructions off the internet.)  Is this right,
and should I be aware of any other tricks?
