Is this what other people are seeing? Car is a 1990 Coupe Quattro.

Outside air temp of 88 is yielding a AC center vent temp of around
63 degrees. I am using a small Rat Shack electronic inside/outside
 thermometer
  to check the vent temp.

It seems like the AC was colder before this all started, but it has been
 about
4-5 weeks and I just can't remember anymore...

Scott-

Definitely NOT normal. I just checked my '90 V8Q on the way back from Pikes
Peak and measured (with outside temp 90+F, center vent temp at 45-48 F. I
used the one I got at one of those truck stops (digital in my case). Very
useful. You are inserting the probe/sensor into the vent, aren't you?
Forgive me, I'm not familiar with the Radio Schlack inside/outside
thermometer. If you're local audi/vw shop can't help, try another AC only
shop. I suspect a freon leak somewhere...
