Jon,

On the 100/200 Audis the Vehicle Identification Number or
VIN  indicates the manufacturing location. The 8th digit
from left to right shows the mfg. location, N for
Necharsulm, A for Ingolstadt. 

I will go out on a limb and make the assumption that the
other Audi models use the same VIN structure but you may
want to check the Bentley  to be sure (ha!)

These days (I believe) the A6/A8 are made in Necharsulm and
the A3 and A4 are made in Ingolstadt, some of the engines
are made at the plant in Hungary.
