So the seller is a smoker.
I was always advised never to buy a used car in which someone smoked. (If
you're a smoker too then I guess it doesn't matter). The reason was that
the smoke damages the interior, in addition to stinking it up. Take a good
look at the headliner. Other than being dirty (because that's where a lot
of the smoke drifted to), check the physical condition of it.
A "good cleaning" may only mask the odor, and only temporarily at that.
