W12 A8 in Colorado

Hello all!!  (originaly sent last thursday, but due to internic
problems, not sure it made it to the list)

Have not been keeping up with the list lately, so sorry if this is old
news.

While looking at a used 92 S4 at an undisclosed Colorado Audi dealer,
the
sales person told me that some Audi engineers had an A6 and an A8 with a

twelve cylinder engine.  I ask if it was the W12, thinking that it
wouldn't be because the rags reported the 12cly would be a V, and to my
surprise, he said it was.  But then quickly said it was top secret.
Well, not any more.

The source for this info is pretty good, but I did not see it with my
own eyes.  Anyone else know anything about this?
