'85 Ur-q digital dash repair/replacement

My friend in California with the "sanitized" european Ur-q (which he tells
me is actually the last of the '85's produced, as opposed to an
'86....which saved him $$$ back then) is having major problems with his
digital dash. Does anyone in the States know of someone who actually works
on thes things? And, failing that, Phil, what would be the case in the UK
for replacement and/or repair if he sent it back over there?

By the way, this car may be coming up for sale. I say "may" because we
always had an understanding that I have the first shot and/or right of
refusal. The subject came up last week and I'm sort of pondering it. My
'83 spends so much time in the garage that I've been spending time looking
for a good S4 deal ( you know, something the wife and kids can enjoy in
more comfort and quiet and that's actually faster anyway....okay, I'm
getting older, I admit it!) So, a I write this, it appears clear to me
that one of the beasts is going to be on the block within the next month or
so. Sort of makes me reflective on the times spent with both cars...

Anyway, any help on the dash would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve
