coupe power window regulators

Perhaps it would have been _MUCH_ cheaper to have lubricated it.
Surely it doesn't take the brainpower of an Einstein to realise that the power
window actuator is the other (i.e., WET) side of the moisture barrier and
therefore is exposed to a fair amount of dihydrogen oxide?
I must admit to being an expert (!) but I can strip an Audi door in fifteen
minutes. It shouldn't take a normal mortal more than an hour or two. A bit of
high-graphite grease on a fingertip and BINGO!

"Fiendly"? Yup.

No. Yes. I believe one model of the Golf GTI ...

Yes. Usually unsuccessful.

Yes. Preventive maintenance is a _LOT_ cheaper.

F*ck knows. However - you might find much deeper philosophical questions
await you with your replacement regulator - since the hole pattern required to
mount it might well be different. The original 1983-pattern part is "Not
Available" according to the microfiche, and the construction of a template for
drilling new holes to accomodate the new hole pattern is described in some
detail.
