help with an S4 "dinger"

good morning,
I was listening to 100.7(WZLX) in the Boston area, and Charles Laquidera
complained about how his door "your lights are on" dinger wouldn't shut
off, and kept going even when the car had been turned on.
I think it's a defective door switch, driver's side, but does anyone know
what this might be?  Common problem with them?  I can get more info from
him...
Help would be appreciated, as he's a good guy, and a good spokesman for
Audis :)
(car is an S4 I believe)
