Here's how to remove windows switches and radio 4k

Ok folks, finally got that pesky radio out. Here's the story:

Had 3 bad window switches and a stuck (really won't come out) radio in
my '86 4kq. The window switches on my '84 4k just pop out when you reach
underneath through the hole from the ashtray and push up. Not so on the
'86. Instead, I removed the 6 screws holding the center console in and
was able to lift it a few inches to see that there are screws underneath
the switch panel holding the panel to the center console. Remove them
(2) and you can now see the switches plainly. They pop out from the
bottom. It might be possible to pop them out without loosening the
console and switch plate, but I think it would be harder. Now there is a
big hole under the dif switch/volt/temp panel. Radio is right above
that. Hmm...a hand might fit in there. Made the handy dandy special coat
hanger radio removal tool. Basically cut just on either side of the hook
and in the middle of the bottom so you get two "U" shaped pieces. Put
the pieces in the 4 holes on the radio. Put fingers into cassette hole
to pull, spread tools apart, etc.. still stuck. Reach up behind the dif
switch panel and push on the back of the radio and out it comes.
