i had the opportunity the other day to have a good look at an a3 up on a hoist.
observations :-
1) quality of suspension etc, nowhere near the a4, or other full grown audi
2) the gearbox/transmission casing for the (transverse) engine has a vw stam on
it.
3) the front half shafts are of unequal length.
4) awd is not going to be easy. the transmission tunnel is full of exhaust,
with no obvious place for a rear driveshaft.
i'd be very interested to see the awd version to see how they manage it.
