While this is true for "real" M3s that have the 330hp engine, not so
with the so called "M3" we get in the U.S. These have 240hp and while
they are plenty quick, are hyped by the press beyond comprehension.
A slightly tweaked S4/S6 or a hot-rodded 200TQ/5000TQ can eat the U.S.
M3 for lunch. If the roads are anything like real world (rather than
like a race track) then there is simply no contest.
Since the message you were responding to was by Carter J, his point of
view is thus based on the U.S. M3 and comparisons should thus be made
with that in mind.
