Don't expect any performance benefits from the Dialynx manifold. There are
around a hundred now installed on UK club members' cars (I have one) and the
early problems seem to be well and truly solved. Dialynx have a good
reputation for standing by their products - I don't know of anyone in dispute
with them about anything. As (I believe) a direct consequence of Aelred's
success, Audi (UK) have dropped the price of the OEM manifold by 35%.
Just recently, David Sutton (Historic Motorsport) announced he was disposing of
all his old ur-quattro and rally quattro material, and ordered a disposal
skip. Aelred heard about this, and roared up to Daventry. He bought the
contents of David's workshop floor, so I think we'll see more goodies from
Dialynx in the future. Those in the UK will be able to see Aelred's latest
creation - a tweaked Sport with ca. 400bhp built for Pete Basset - at David
Preece's area meeting on 18 August.
The charge cooler, as far as performance is concerned, is something else. Be
careful you don't melt any pistons.
