RE: RCA cable question



Yes this is exactly right, and its a problem, especially in cars.  Using the 
shield as a negative conductor can introduce noise into the system.  Even the 
cheeper MonsterCable will use a separate shield and negative conductior for 
better rejection of noise.  But, if you find the Rat Shack stuff works fine 
for you, kudos.

Ok...putting cd player in my car...stupid question:

For RCA cables, the signal wire is the inside wire,
and the ground surrounds it....right?
I'm talking about cheapo, Radio Shack style RCA
cables.
