Black Book.
Dear Mike,
I think the price refers to what the dealer should sell a used car for and
make a sensible profit, defined by the CAP organisation themselves. In other
words if you see a car for significantly over the book price at a dealer
then steer clear unless it is in fabulous condition or has unique history. I
believe these qualifications are made in the book itself. I can get hold of
the CAP Black Book fairly easily through my dad's work. If there is anything
more you'd like to know I could ask him to check up on it if you like,
unofficially of course.
By the way, does anybody know what the restrictions on the availability of
this information are in the UK and why this is so?
Hope this helped,
Graham.
