RE: RCA cable question
It's my understanding that to prevent ground loops, only one end of the
shield should be connected to the jack. Igor, Huw, etc???
This is also true. Look at all the cables on the market worth their salt and
you'll see some form of directional indicator. This is mainly because the
shield is connected to one RCA connector, but also because all wire is
inherently directional. Its a function of the manufacturing process. Even if
the cables don't have direction indicators, like some of the Monster speaker
cables, you should be able to swap ends and hear a dfference, depending on the
quality of the cable and the ancilary equiptment.
