Re: NEQ Corral '97 - Audi-Mt. Washington Hillclimb
To add to this thread...is this a "back east" thing or has AOA gone clueless?
I recall attending the (CA, west coast of US) Trans-Am and IMSA events at the
Audi hospitality tents...got cool tee shirts, big color calanders, cool hats,
food and drink, and chats/autographs with the drivers...ALL for FREE!!!! Now
admittedly, I was a pretty good customer back then of a local dealership
(before kids and with a higher income), and it was the late '80's when they
weren't setting sales records with A4's...buuuuut still! Race track "banners"
etc. are historically "fair game" as souveniers as evidenced in the motor
home camping areas of any race track in America. As a long time race fan I
have seen these clipped down so many times it is unreal. AOA needs a clue...I
feel if it weren't for Audi enthusiasts continuing to purchase cars in those
post 60 minutes lean years, there would be no US market today in which they
enjoy record sales month after month. While I feel for the NEQ and Paul, my
support goes in the direction of Dan, Steve, Sean, et all...after all, we are
the customer, they are the supplier as Phil stated so well.
