Ski sack came out, can't get it back in

The ski sack on my '92 100CSQ popped out a few months ago and despite
trying very hard I can't seem to get it to back in. Im getting the tabs in
the bottom to stick through to the passenger compartment, but the two
press-down tabs on the top that have to come through and then pop up to
hold it in place just can't seem to make it through no matter how hard I
push on the tabs on press on the ski sack. Yes, I'm installing it from
the trunk, but I'm looking through the passenger compartment to see how
it's aligned.

Help! It shouldn't be this hard to get the thing back in. What am I doing
wrong?
