German Transmission/Transaxle is a lifesaver
This is in regards to my last post, when I was looking for a third gear
for my transmission. By the enthusiasm shown in my title, you can
probably tell that German Transmission/Transaxle _had_ the part for the
Coupe Quattro's rare ASZ tranny.
I started by calling Rietzle Audi that ran a nationwide search and came
up with absolutely nothing. The only source was directly from Germany,
which came complete with a two week wait for a price of $128. After
calling oh, about 15 different numbers off of the "HTMLized Vendor
List" (thanks Dan and all who have suggested vendors for the list) I
called German Tranny/Transaxle. After about five minutes Mark called me
back and to my utter stupification, he _had_ the part. Aside from
rejoicing at the fact that my previously jeapordized trip to Lime Rock
for the QCUSA event had been salvaged (and about the next two weeks, for
that matter), I pondered what would have been if this thing called the
internet had not been around. I would have probably shot myself by now
'cos I wouldn't have had my car to drive for awhile, etc. etc.
So thank you all for having an oasis called the "Quattro List" tucked
away in this infinite vastness of space we call the Internet.
By the way, I am definitely a satisfied customer of German
Transmission/Transaxle, and if you need something for your tranny,
contact them at:
mailto:gtainc@empnet.com
or see the Vendor List
as long as it shows up tomorrow, I will be as much a fan of FedEx as I
am of German Tranny... :*)

PS> Thanks to Chris Semple who helped me out, as well as slogging
through my repeated phone calls
