Re: More TWS bits

I just spent this past Saturday and Sunday driving around the track at
TWS and I have to say that this is the most fun I have had with my car
since, well, ever!! Eric Fluhr already gave a good summary and Jason
Palmer has added his .02's so here is my brief report.

The two old black Audis (my 4kq and Eric's Coupe GT) caught everybody's
attention Sunday morning when the long awaited duel between the 2300
lbs. FWD Coupe GT and the 2800 lbs. AWD 4kq was finally fought. People
lined up in behind the wall in the #3 turn after the two long sweeping
turns after the straight to see the almost bumper-to-bumper
performance. It was voted the most exiting session of the weekend - an
that included the Porsches and Viper. All in all, the two cars were
pretty evenly matched with the Coupe having a very slight advantage in
the straights and tight turns and the quattro being triumphant on the
long sweeping turns and braking.

It quickly became obvious that 60-series tires belong on the street, not
on the track. -Anybody knows of a source of 195-50-R14 tires?- It will
have to be that or get new 15" rims and 205-50-R15 tires. Anyone?

Jason Palmer was sentenced to drive with the instructor until mid
Sunday, but he has already explained this was due to a very cold A/C ;)
And yes, there were moments when a Vette or a Porsche were holding up
the flow of the Audis around the track, no to mention a VR6 Passat
trying to catch up with the 115 hp 4kq. I guess I should enjoy it while
it lasts before Rick shows up with his beast after the open-heart
surgery is finished.

Did I say it was a lot of fun? I can't wait for the next one.
