Hello Ian.

First of all, condolences on your gasket problem.  Just one word of warning 
 - I replaced a head gasket on a Toyota in 1984.  The new one lasted 30 
miles!  It turned out that the head was warped.  I got it skimmed for GBP20 
or so and the next head gasket lasted the car out (another 30k miles)

I know that Phil said that there was a strong likelihood of the gasket being 
faulty, but it's a lot of work (and expense in terms of non reusable head 
bolts) to put in a new gasket and then find the problem lies elsewhere.
