Re: No Start - 89 100
Scott,
Thanks a bunch for the suggestions. I wondered about the anti-theft relay,
too. I dis-connected the alarm horn in the trunk about six months ago,
after the auto lock mechanism for the trunk broke. There were too many
false alarms going off when people would open the trunk with other doors
locked and alarm enabled. Maybe I should have just pulled this relay, or
mAybe that would prevent the car from starting? I wonder if disconnecting
the alarm in the trunk six months ago has anything to do with the current
problem. I guess the relay would still function even though the horn was
disabled. Did I screw up by disconnecting the alarm horn? Maybe I should
have pulled the relay in the first place and put a jumper across it?
I'm not sure how to jumper across this relay, but I'll see if I can figure
it out. I guess I need to see what wiring track number goes into the relay
and then continues on to the starter, and jump across those two connectors
as labelled on the fuse block.
I'll check the shift-lock also.
Geeezz, I feel sooooo humble (dumb).
Thanks again,
Dave C.
