RE: Power loss at>4800 rpm WOT switch source?
Well the mechanic adjusted the mixture to be slightly richer...but this didn't
help, still knock followed by power cut off.
He did find that neither switch changed potential (i.e. at idle/2/3 throttle)
so I need a new switch. Hopefully this will fix the problem. While browsimg
the archives I noticed someone fiund a source to buy a replacement for only
$50 or so...??? Can anyone tell me where that was? or an alternate source.
TIA

Orin Eman suggested:
the computer may be selecting the lower octane ignition map due
to knock detection
It wouldn't come on if the computer selected the lower octane map. Only if
the engine continued to knock on the lower octane map with maximum retard
would the check engine light come on.
Also that it might be running a bit lean
