RE: Eggbeater under the hood?

Well George was closest...
It turns out that there was multiple loose parts...
1. one of the bolts on thepower steering pump was missing
2. the upper bolt on the alternator (against the block) was missing
3. The bolt on the AC compressor was loose and partly stripped
4. the other alternator bolt was loose

What is going on here???
Either the guy who replaced the cylinder head forgot to tighten things up...
or going from 12-16 psi boost has created a whole lot of shaking down there.
My mechanic added longer bolts and lock nuts to the ones that were loose, but
he didn't think the A/C nut would last long..

Thanks for the ideas...

Try checking whether the alternator is secured to the engine block
tightly. I've had the same problem with my Audi 80 and tightning the
bottom bolt fixed it.=20
