just for completeness sake, european normally aspirated, "dirty" 2.2
liter fives made 136 bhp.

the 20 valve 5 (non turbo) made 164 bhp, but had a really weak low
end.  clearly VW/Audi's first 4 valve head is much more effective
with forced induction than without.  not surprising since it first
was used in the 306 bhp quattro sport.
