Crankcase ventilation

All this talk about oil in the intake hoses got me thinking. One of the
first mods I did on my talon was to put a small K&N filter on the hose
that route the fumes for the crankcase ventilation. Now they just vent
into the air. This way it would prevent oil from rotting out the intake
hoses and prevent nasty vacuum leaks from the t-fitting. Someone
convince me why I shouldn't do this.

Note: I realize that there would be an increase in pollution because of it.
2nd Note: You can increase the efficiency of you intercooler by cleaning
out all the oil in it.
