Well, praise God for people with fire extinguishers that stop.

My 88 5ktqw decided to catch on fire on the freeway and there was no prior
symptoms except for minutes before all the warning lights started flashing
and the engine started sputtering.  The smoke coming from the vents and
under hood was the sign to get wife and baby out of the car.

The Lord provided an offramp under construction which was a perfectly safe
place to stop and address the problem.

I'll feedback later on cause (if found).  there was a lot of smoke coming
from rad fan vicinity.

We'll see....
