Up to 1984, the oxygen sensor light counter was contained in the little
black box in the engine bay, and the 4000/Coupe used a 2-piece speedometer
cable. From 1985 on, the 4000/Coupe used a single piece speedo cable,
and the oxygen sensor light counter was part of the instrument cluster.

So, for this '85, the first method of resetting the light is correct.
For any 1984 or earlier car, the second method is correct.
