turbo assembly and boost maps

Some questions from a turbo neophyte:

How does a turbo come apart?  Can the compressor side be unbolted from
the exhaust side and spun independently?

Does anyone have or know where I can get a boost vs. rpm chart for the
K26 turbo, or any other turbo, for that matter?  The K26 seems to be readily
available in the junkyard off of late '80s 5000s, and I want to investigate
how it functions.

Finally, anyone know what the going rate for a used K26 should be from
a moderate mileage (~100K miles) 5K turbo engine?  Anyone happen to have
a dead turbo they want to get rid of for cheap?
