Thanks to all of you who answered my questions about full throttle air
conditioner cutoffs and 'what is a UR-Q'. Thanks, also to Bob Myers for the
info on boost mods. I will probably do this soon. The reason I hadn't
figured out the UR-Q is that there are so many references to later UR-Qs and
I thought the original turbo quattro coupe went out in the early '80s. Now
I understand and I would love to get my hands on a later UR-Q but I guess I
am in the wrong country.

I also apologize for the crack about fast ovloVs but the fact is that Audi
is losing ground in the performance war. When my '91 200TQ was new, it was
comparatively a very fast sedan. Since then, everyone else has gotten
faster and Audi dropped the S6 (and got slower). When we bought my wifes'
850 Turbo we drove an A6 Quattro wagon first but it was even too slow for my
wife (and I thought that was impossible). With the new S models a ways off
and likely to cost megabucks, I doubt we will look at Audi when we replace
my wifes' 850T in the next year. Too bad! They are beautiful cars but
losing the engine war.

Finally, speaking of slow cars blocking the road, us guys in Colorado have
it worst. Lots of wonderful twisty two lane roads begging for Quattro speed
but choked with: clapped out ovloVs, all surabuS (especially clapped out
ones), smoking skcurT pukciP (especially the old Japanese kind), and
wallowing snaviniM and setU-tropS many of them laboring up high altitude
grades at speeds from 40 to 55 mph. The only good news is that we can
usually pass them all with our TQs. One curiosity is that the surabuS go
REALLY fast down the hills and can easily be led (by Quattros) into curves
at warp speed - usually good for a thrill.

Cheers:
