Need advice on headlight relays

Hi Guys:

Thanks to all of the information gleaned from the list, I have begun the
process of installing headlight relays and Hella XLs on my '91 200TQ. The
Hellas are a no-brainer, but I have a question about the headlamp relays. I
will run a fused primary supply to the relays off the 'jump-start' terminal
under the hood and attach the headlamp returns to a chassis ground I found
in front of the radiator. Then I planned to use only one of the original
high beam supply wires to switch the high beam relay and likewise for the
low beams. This leaves one set of the original supply wires disconnected
and both ground returns disconnected. It just occurred to me that the
warning system will always show a bulb out, and I will never be able to tell
if there really is a bulb out. Can one of the experts (I'm sure Phil Payne
knows this) tell me how I should hook up in order to avoid this inconvenience??

Thanks!!
