1 less Audi in the family....forgive me
Here's the bad news:
Well, after 3 weeks of negotiating with 5 Audi dealers, I'm afraid that my
girlfriend will NOT be getting an A4 1.8manual. We had offers on the table
for 6 A4 1.8manuals, and nobody would dance. I was offering $24K out the
door for the end of model year '97s. These dealers know they have a high
demand car, and want ALOT of $ for them. We could barley afford that much,
let alone the 25-27K they were asking for them. And there is NO used A4s in
Florida that I could find.
SO, what are we getting my girlfriend? I'm sorry and ashamed to report
that she is getting a '96 BMW 318ti. Before you start sending me hate mail,
let me assure you that I DO NOT like the car, but the deal was sweet and she
wanted it. It's her decision, so let it be. It looks like she will be
getting a good size inheritance in 6 months to a year, and she does love
Audis…SO expect her to be trading in the BMW in a year for a 30V A4!!!! She
did want the A4 bad, but a $18,000 car is much more affordable than a $25,000
car.(we are still pretty young and need to save our $)
Now the precious Coupe Quattro is the only Audi we own for now…AND I AM
NOT SELLING MY COUPE, at least not until they have an A4 coupe available, and
then I would only sell it to a Qlister.
Well, that's it, commence with your hate mail.
