I've been considering many of the same types of mods for my '98. I want to
autocross (Washington DC area), though, so I've got a few limitations...as
far as remaining in the stock class. I've settled on putting the A4 sport
springs on my car, and then going for either Konis or Bilsteins. Front and
rear sway bars will stay stock. Wheels will also remain stock diameter,
although I plan on putting 225/50 R16 tires on for both racing and street
use (one set for each).
Exhaust is a 'hot' issue. I've heard bad things about Remus. Apparently
they rust and don't fit well. Many people have been happy with the
Scorpion, except for the price. It looks like LLTek will have an exhaust
available soon. No word on price or performance.
Good luck!
