A4Q wheel dust covers??

Hello All!
Just picked up my '98 A4Q last week at dealers.  It is my fourth Audi - but
first three were a 5000, then two 100's.  Have always had problems with
brakes squeaking and dust, but no where near the problem I'm having with
this A4 in the first week.  When I inquired with my dealer, he mentioned he
has a few customers who use the wheel dust covers, and so far seem to be
happy with them, without problems of excessive heat and problems associated.
Is he pulling my leg to make me happy for the moment - and get a few more
bucks from me - or has anyone truly had some experience with them or have
any info at all.  If so, I would greatly appreciate your input! Thanks in
advance.
